Illuminations of the Ramayana was designed as a immersive visual and storytelling experience, featuring 350 pages of full-color watercolor artwork by Anna Johansson. The book design illuminates the artistic depth of the Ramayana, with elegant typography and creative layout, using the artwork and supporting decorative elements to express the narrative.
Published by Museum of Sacred Art (MOSA) and Niyogi Books, the volume also includes text by Vrinda Sheth and forewords by noted academics Graham M. Schweig and Molly Kaushal. This limited deluxe edition was created as both a collectible art book and a tribute to the enduring cultural legacy of the Ramayana. The book was launched with an exhibition at the MOSA Gallery in Belgium, featuring hundreds of Anna Johansson’s original paintings included in Illuminations of the Ramayana.
